About Lag Ba'Omer: Lag Ba’omer (the 33rd day of the counting of the Omer) commemorates the lives of the great sages Rabbi Akiva and Rabbi Shimon bar Yochai who were examples of proud loyalty to G-d and His Torah during the Roman occupation of the land of Israel. The day of Lag Ba’Omer is celebrated as an exhibition of Jewish pride and unity.
